Our Story
It was 2006 and as a community we had a problem, we needed somewhere to ride our bikes...
The trail network started on the Orari River flats as a small, enthusiastic team of locals got to work. Over time, an impressive network of trails would be built along both sides of the Orari River, stretching from Vance Road in the East to Burdon Road in the West.
As the project grew, so too did the aspirations of this group to turn Geraldine into a Cycling Hub, providing world-class trails for our community and our visitors. New trails were conceived and built in Ridells Reserve, Pekapeka Lane, and Gale Cutting Road. The vision that drives us forward is to leave this community in a better place than when we arrived in it. To create spaces for all generations and abilities to have fun on a bike.
We have inherited this legacy, and we are custodians of it. In 2017, Bike Geraldine became an incorporated society. However, without that enthusiastic subcommittee from the Geraldine Lions Club back in 2006, these trails would not exist. What comes next is built upon the foundation they laid.

Get Involved
We are always looking for passionate individuals to help us out!
Bike Geraldine's vision is for locals to help create, maintain, and play on our network of cycle trails. But we can't do it alone; we need friends to help us. So are you passionate about leaving a lasting legacy for our community? Come and get involved!
